Account and data deletion

This page explains how to request deletion of your Dad’s Dinner account and associated personal data for the Dad’s Dinner mobile application published by Dad Whats for Dinner (Pty) Ltd (reg: 2025/616693/07) (“Dad’s Dinner”, “we”, “us”). It supplements our Privacy policy and Terms of use.

How to request account deletion

Use the in-app flow below. That is the fastest way for us to process your request.

  1. Log in to the Dad’s Dinner app.
  2. Open Profile.
  3. Tap Manage account.
  4. Choose Permanently Delete User Account and complete the steps shown in the app.

If you cannot use the app

Email us at developer@dadwhatsfordinner.co.za from the address linked to your account. Include a clear request to delete your account and enough detail for us to identify your account. We may ask you to verify your identity before we process the request.

What we delete

When your account is deleted, we remove personally identifiable information tied to your account, including for example:

  • Identity and profile data: such as name and other profile fields you provided.
  • Contact data: such as email address and phone number associated with the account.
  • Account content: such as ingredients, recipe suggestions, images, and shopping lists stored in your account.

After deletion, that information should no longer be linked to you in a way that identifies you as an individual user of Dad’s Dinner.

What may be kept and for how long

  • Processing time: We aim to complete deletion requests within 30 days after we have verified your identity, in line with our Terms of use.
  • Lawful retention: We may retain certain information where the law requires it or where we have a legitimate need (for example records related to billing, tax, fraud prevention, security, or legal claims). Such data is kept only as long as necessary for those purposes.
  • Aggregated or anonymised data: We may retain aggregated or anonymised information that does not identify you (for example statistics used to improve the service), as described in our Privacy policy.
